Everyone needs somewhere to live, and that includes travellers and gypsies.
People love to hate travellers. Although this is occasionally for a legitimate reason, it seems unfair to tar all families with the same brush.
The Hegarty family, who will be moving onto a newly approved site at Frampton Cotterell, are reportedly of “good character”.
As such, it seems safe to assume that they will be a valuable addition to the community of Frampton Cotterell.
Although some people are citing “protecting the greenbelt” as a reason to object to the site, we can’t help but feel that others despise the thought of having traveller people in the village.
Don’t all people deserve a stable place to live? Particularly when those people are in poor health and are being made homeless due to circumstances beyond their control.
The Hegarty family have committed no crime by making a lawful planning application to the council.
Looking to the future, we hope that they are welcome in the village.
