AN APPEAL has been launched to find the rightful owner of photos found in a purse bought from a charity shop in Yate.

The collection of sentimental family photos, which includes a number of passport-sized photos of infants, was discovered by Didmarton resident Nina Walker after buying the purse from the Blue Cross charity shop last week.

Ms Walker had bought the purse while on a shopping trip with her mother, but said she had not thoroughly inspected the insides as it had “a thousand different pockets”, only discovering the photos when she got home

One of the pictures has the words “Happy Birthday” handwritten in Arabic on the back.

Realising the potential importance of returning the photos and hoping someone might recognise the children or the school uniforms, Ms Walker tried sharing the images on social media, but has had no luck in tracing the owner.

She told the Gazette: “I'd really like to reunite them with their owner as they appear to be treasured photos.

“It looks like a mother and daughter in the pictures and I know that if they were mine, and I had noticed they were missing, I would want to get them back as soon as possible.”

Anyone recognising the photos are asked to contact Nina by emailing ninabob23@yahoo.co.uk
