A FREE loaf of bread is on offer for those attending Chipping Sodbury's Big Lunch on Sunday, June 4.

Hobbs House Bakery is issuing 100 loaves of bread on a first come, first served basis in the lead up to the town's annual picnic.

Anyone wishing to add a baked treat to their basket should visit the Hobbs House Chipping Sodbury bakery between 8am and 2.30pm on Saturday, June 3.

They should say “big lunch” to the staff, who will happily hand over a free small Sherston loaf - one of the bakery’s most popular sellers.

This year’s Big Lunch event has a seaside theme and invites residents in the town to come together as neighbours for a communal picnic on Broad Street at 12noon.

Entertainment will take place on a haycart stage decorated with beach huts, and there will be a variety of attractions and events taking place around the high street.

These include a clown, free face painting, plus singing and dancing from a variety of local acts.
