WHILST trawling through Gazette archives, one of our reporters stumbled across this incredible image of Rowley, Cam in 1897.
The 120-year-old photo shows Queen Victoria’s jubilee celebrations taking place in the town, and was sent into the Gazette by Miss M. A. Palser, of Cirencester, back in 1977.
Pictured in the image are Miss Palser’s grandparents, Mr and Mrs. Joseph Ball, who lived at the Railway Inn, Cam.
Also shown are Miss Palser’s mother, Amy (who married David Palser of Wotton-under-Edge) her cousin Joe and her aunts Clara, Emily, Annie and Emma.
