Firefighters from Yate race to tackle large hay fire in Frampton Cotterell
FIREFIGHTERS raced to Frampton Cotterell last night after a large quantity of hay was set alight.
One crew from Yate Fire Station was dispatched when the call was received at 9.17pm, arriving at the Frome Valley Walkway, behind the Globe Pub to find the pile, measuring roughly five metres by five metres, well alight.
They used grass beaters to extinguish the fire, which an Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said they believe was started deliberately.
