A CAFE in Yate is hosting a night of entertainment and live music to raise awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis.

A 'song and dance extravaganza' is to take place at Cafe Ridgewood on Tuesday, June 20 between 7.30pm and 10pm.

The event costs £8, with tickets available from the cafe, and includes a glass of wine on arrival and nibbles.

Entertainment will be provided by Go Vocal choir, Tribal fantasy dance troop and other live performers.

There will be a guest speaker from a leading cystic fibrosis organisation, in addition to a fund-raising raffle.

Yate resident Liz Brennan, whose toddler daughter Annabelle has cystic fibrosis, is urging people to come along.

"The amount of kindness and support our community has given Annabelle and our family has been truly touching.

"It would be great to see people on Tuesday - we are really looking forward to it.

Liz extended her thanks to cafe owner Cheryl Trew, for "kindly organising" the event.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic condition that affects the lining of the lungs.

It causes thick mucus to build up in the lungs, digestive system and other organs and leads to a progressive decline in health.
