A BUSKATHON supporting Southmead Hospital is off on tour this weekend, with bands and choirs set to perform at Cribbs Causeway.

All today and tomorrow, shoppers at John Lewis in The Mall will be treated to performances by people giving up their time to raise money for the Southmead Hospital Charity’s Prostate Cancer Care Appeal.

Taking part through the whole of June, there will also be a number of performances taking place in the hospital’s Brunel building as well as places like Cribbs Causeway and Broadmead shopping centres.

“We are delighted to be hosting the Buskathon this weekend in support of Southmead Hospital Charity,” said Nicola Mason, PR and marketing coordinator at John Lewis.

“It’s a huge privilege for us to be involved and a great way to entertain our customers whilst supporting this very worthwhile cause.”

“We have had a great response from Bristol performers, willing to give their time to support our Prostate Cancer Care Appeal,” says the charity’s community appeals manager, Adrian Brown

“This is the second year running that we’ve hosted our Buskathon and we have a very varied performance timetable. We have choirs, soloists, bands, folk trios – even a sea shanty group all playing for us.  Check our website to see what’s on each day and pop in.”
