A MEET-and-greet with a difference is set to take place at Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church next month.
Families will be able to befriend a live owl and hedgehog belonging to Yate-based Ian McGuire, of Wild Owl TV, and Yvonne Cox, of Hedgehog Rescue as part of a wildlife fundraising day.
There will be an opportunity to take photos of the animals and to learn more about them.
The free event, which takes place on Wednesday, August 2 between 2pm-4pm, is being organised by Rich McDonough, of Rich McD Photography, and Lynn Edwards, of L. Energy Assessor.
They both wanted to celebrate running their businesses for ten years by "giving something back to their community", and decided find a way to raise money for Yvonne’s Hedgehog Rescue.
Rich said: “The work Yvonne does to help endangered hedgehogs is vital, so we both felt that fundraising to help her was a fitting way to celebrate the achievement of 10 years in business.”
Refreshments will be available on the day in return for donations, and there will be a bran tub with prizes for children to enjoy.
The event is being sponsored by Chipping Sodbury Chamber of Commerce.
