POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed of his mobile phone in the Kingswood area of South Gloucestershire.
The victim was walking along a lane off Moravian Road at sometime between 2-3am on Sunday, July 2 after leaving Chasers nightclub.
He heard a female who be believed to be in distress so went to investigate, using a light on his mobile phone to assist him.
After finding no one, he retraced his steps but was assaulted and had his phone taken.
During the robbery, the victim received a broken rib, punctured lung, broken nose and cuts.
He required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident who could have useful information to help our enquiries.
