A RARE 'pink rainbow' was spotted in the sky over Yate and Chipping Sodbury on Monday evening.
The phenomenon was also observed by residents of Bristol and Taunton.
Experts have described the sighting as an optical illusion.
BBC Weather presenter Simon King explained that the rainbow was caused by a regular rainbow and a pink sunset happening at the same time.
