YATE marathon man Clive Daniels came out of retirement to run again for charity.

The sprightly 71-year-old completed the Bristol half marathon in just two hours 27 minutes earlier this month, raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Clive, of The Glen, has now raised a total of £252,000 (£230,000 of which has been for Macmillan) in 33 years of taking part in marathons, half marathons and 10km races.

Last year Clive vowed that it was his final charity run, but changed his mind in July 2017 when he was the recipient of the British Citizen Award at the House of Lords.

The exploits of the other 30 award winners inspired him to run yet again for Macmillan and he hopes to raise around £11,000 from this year's race.

Clive wishes to thank all his sponsors. Should anyone wish to sponsor Clive it is not too late. His on-line charity page can be found at justgiving.com/clivebristol2017 or contact him on 07772965778.
