A MAN charged with smashing church windows in Frenchay is to appear in court today.

The suspected vandal will face charges of criminal damage at Bristol Magistrates' Court, after three windows were broken at St John the Baptist Church, Frenchay Common.

The incident happened at about 2.50pm on Saturday, January 20, when damage estimated at around £6,000 was caused.

The suspect has been sent a postal requisition to appear in court today (Tuesday, February 6).
