A MAN from Yate has admitted to driving carelessly, unsupervised with just a provisional licence, and failing to stop after an accident.
Philip Emerson, 39, of South Parade House, pleaded guilty to driving on Manor Road, Rangeworthy on February 14, unsupervised and uninsured, on a provisional licence, without due care and attention.
He also accepted charges of failing to stop, and failing to give his details at the scene of an accident.
At a hearing at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on April 18, the defendant was handed a community order with an electronic tag for ten weeks, meaning he must stay indoors between 7pm and 7am each day, except Thursdays, when the curfew starts at 9pm.
He was also disqualified from driving, given nine points on his licence, and ordered to pay compensation of £1,000.
