A FUNDRAISING family from Yate have raised an incredible £1759.70 for a little girl who needs surgery.

Yate father and daughter Sarah Hitchings and Jerry Milner organised two sponsored walks to raise funds to help three-year-old Daisy Bowyer from Patchway, who has cerebral palsy.

Daisy's family are trying to raise £75,000 for life changing spinal surgery which will help her to walk and improve her quality of life.

Sarah says she has just finished collecting the money from sponsored walk which she organised back in February.

"There isn’t a cure for cerebral palsy, but there is life changing surgery called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) which Daisy has been referred for.

"SDR is the only surgical procedure that will permanently reduce or eliminate the tightness that causes Daisy to stumble and fall on a daily basis.

Sarah has organised a three and a 10 mile fundraising walk for the past eight years.

Her dad, Jerry Milner leads the 10 mile group out on a route towards Hawkesbury Upton.

And Sarah takes the three mile group out around Chipping Sodbury and Yate.

Combined, all of the walks have raised an amazing total of £19,666.82p so far.

"I am so pleased with this amount, and would like to thank everyone that has donated and taken part in the walks over the years," said Sarah.
