LUKE Hall MP welcomed his 150th visitor from Frampton Cotterell and Coalpit Heath to the Houses of Parliament last week, as part of a village tour of Westminster.

The tour is part of an initiative to provide all constituents of Thornbury and Yate with the opportunity to visit the heart of the British Democracy.

The day began with a tour of the Houses of Parliament, including exclusive access to the Queen’s Robing Rooms, the Royal Gallery, the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

This was followed by a Q&A with Luke, where the MP spoke about life as an MP.

Before setting off home, the residents joined Mr Hall for photos on the riverside terrace.

Resident Lisa O’Hare said: “What a fabulous day out.

"The guided tour of the Palace of Westminster brought the history of both the Palace and our democracy to life, and the building was spectacular.”

Mr Hall said: “It was a huge pleasure to welcome families from Frampton Cotterell and Coalpit Heath to the Houses of Parliament.

"I am really excited about next visit, which will be for residents of Yate.”
