A CYBER security academy in Almondsbury is offering specialist training to women, to address a gender gap in the field.

The cyber gap, the difference between the demand for cyber security professionals and their supply, is projected to reach 1.8million by 2022, with women currently only making up 20 per cent of the industry’s workforce.

PGI’s state-of-the-art Cyber Academy and training programme, located in Aztec West is offering the Women in Cyber training programme, which converts candidates into an entry level cyber security professional, with employment guaranteed before training starts.

Sponsored by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, candidates simply need to demonstrate aptitude for this kind of work - both technical and non-technical - and the training will cover everything else.

The stated goal is to empower women who are looking to convert, or to start a new or different career, to use the training programme expertise to move seamlessly into a profession where they are badly needed.
