PUPILS at Pontnewydd Primary School got some hands-on experience in the world of science.
Bristol ChemLabs, from Bristol University, visited the school on Tuesday with a range of experiments to show the children to encourage them to enjoy science and investigative learning.
The team held a whole school assembly with experiments involving solids, liquids and gases, and then did a series of experiment workshops with year six pupils.
Deputy headteacher Stephen Davies said: “The children really loved it and their enthusiasm was the key ingredient for the day and made them enthusiastic about learning science in a hands on way.”
Experiments included measuring liquids, observing the length of time a liquid takes to turn into a gas and mini-explosions using hydrogen gas.
