Uni student set to wake up Thornbury with radio show

LESS than a month before Thornbury FM hits the airwaves, the presenter line up is being revealed.

First to be unveiled is the man behind the voice that will get Thornbury out of bed and through the rush hour traffic every morning.

This year's breakfast show on Thornbury FM will be presented by 20-year-old student Oliver Pinkard, along with DJ Gary Price.

Oliver hopes to fit the flagship show between his studies for a geography degree at the University of the West of England.

Oliver said: "We will be playing a wide range of music to suit all tastes, from the latest chart hits, through to 80s cheese and Gary’s Golden Greats.

"Of course, we will also be supplying you with the latest news from Thornbury and afar, plus regular travel updates, weather forecasts and information about local events.

"The local police will be visiting us weekly, to discuss their recent activities, and to give crime prevention advice."

The breakfast show will go out every weekday morning 7am to 9am.

Thornbury FM will be back on air on 87.7 FM from Monday, November 3.

Anyone wishing to join Thornbury FM should call 01454 413209 or visit www.thornburyfm.org.
