Severnside Tritons win several medals in 800m and 1500m races in Gloucester

SEVERNSIDE TRITONS secured an impressive medal haul over two weekends in Gloucester.
The club scooped ten gold, 11 silver, four bronze and seven place medals, with 30 personal best times, four records and three championship trophies.
In the boy’s 800m, Ed Walsh, 15, got a new age group best time and was crowned junior county champion, storming through the last 50m in a blistering swim of 8.44.70 for a new PB. Golds were also claimed by 16-year-old Cade Gillingham in a personal best of 9:18.10 and 17-year-old Hayden Ball in 9:30.84.
Ed Aris, 12, 15-year-old Will Seaman (PB), and Ben Hampson, 16, got silver.
For the girls, gold went to 18-year-old Zoe Bartholomew. Well earned silver medals went to Isobel Hewett-Cartmell, 12, Georgina Hardwick, 15, and Cara Hodgkinson, 16, whilst 12-year-old Zoe Owen (PB) and Georgia Pirret, 16, came away with bronze medals.
In the 1500m boy’s session, gold went to Gillingham in a PB of 17:57.26, while Walsh and Danny Pirret clinched silver.
The girls dominated their 1500m session with golds going to Hewett-Cartmell in 21:17.71 (PB) and 13-year-old Sophie Wilkins in 20:37.70 (PB). Hardwick swam a stunning race, winning gold in a PB time of 18:09.83, which was an age group best time and a county record as she became junior county champion. Amy Wilkins, 16, eased her way to gold in a PB of 18:29.93, and was also crowned senior county champion. Bartholomew claimed gold in a PB of 18:45.47, also getting an age group best time.
Silver medals went to 11-year-old Molly Salmon in her debut swim at this distance, Mary Evans, 12 and 15-year-old Ellie Aris, while bronze went to Caitlin Lynam, 12, and Laura Watt, 15.
