JACK SMYTH hit a hat-trick as Tytherington Rocks recorded a comfortable cup win against Finchampstead.

Finchampstead had the edge in the early minutes, but Rocks gradually picked up the pace and after 25 minutes took the lead when a free kick by Stuart Nelson into the box was met by Jack Smyth, who headed clear of the keeper.

After a poor pass back by Rocks defender Courtney Charles in the 29th minute passing back to keeper Kevin Freeman brought down a Finchampstead player and conceded a penalty.

The spot kick was driven low to the Freeman’s right by Sean Cahill to equalise.

Just on half time Rocks regained their lead when Smyth hit the ball low into the corner of the net.
