JUST IN: The Green Light with FGR fan John Light

EVERY club needs to move forward on and off the field and I see no problem with our involvement in anything green.

However, the venom directed towards Dale Vince and David Hockaday on the FGR fans’ forum has been nothing short of staggering.

What is wrong by being known as an innovative and pioneering club? It does not harm the football and we must all accept that Ecotricity involvement has moved us forward on the field as well.

I do have an answer to one question that no one should have any need to ask. That is does the chairman care about the fans? Of course he does. Look at the evidence.

We have the best facilities of any ground I have visited this season, and access is open to all.

As the season faltered he has supported the manager by allowing players such as Odubade, Bennett and Fowler to be brought in. Do not forget Racine earlier in the season.

He is committed to providing the best football possible. The evidence is totally conclusive. Whether we are watching football of appropriate quality is a totally different question and at the seasons end this column will not give a fudged answer. We still have crucial points to play for.

Lacking the incisive Paul Green I have to ask is our midfield mobile enough? All three are very good players, but Forbes may not be 100% fit and although Bangura and Fowler are very good footballers but can they play together?

Against Grimsby they had been outstanding from penalty area to penalty area. They gave everything, but in this tough league is that enough?

Recent games against Grimsby and Kidderminster have shown an extra dimension is necessary, they are mean.

They give little away and what they have they hold. That is something our team must learn.

There will be no criticism of the players from me, either individually or collectively.

Quite simply is does not help anyone. Some of our team may be carrying injuries; some to quote the manager are at times "square pegs in round holes".

The injury situation has caused that and I am certain will do so again. Total support from me at the moment.
