Gloucestershire County Cricket League round-up: Stone, Cam, Hawkesbury Upton, Wickwar and Charfield

CHARFIELD’S promotion hopes were virtually ended by a 40-run defeat at home to second-placed in Division Five.
Upton St Leonards scored 153-7 with Sam Warner hitting 36, with Charlie Walwin taking 2-18 from nine overs for Charfield and Daniel Newman taking 2-31.
Despite Jim Davis’ 32, Charfield were 113 all out after good work from James Price (3-20) and Andy Ridley (3-23).
In Division Four, Hawkesbury Upton (177-9) won by two runs at Cheltenham thirds (175-9).
Josh Vaughan scored 56 for the visitors before Tim Chancellor (3-30) and Sam Beeley (2-27) helped them record a narrow victory.
Wickwar beat Cam seconds by 36 runs.
Will Fishley scored 65 in the home side’s 145-9 with Steven Ballard and Steven Rice taking three wickets apiece.
Lewis Hill (4-31) and Jack Hewitt (2-20) bowled well as Cam were all out for 109.
Kingsholm triumphed over Cam by five wickets in Division One.
Stuart Newman struck 62 in Cam’s 193-9 but Neil Rayer (55) hit a fine half-century to lead the visitors home by five wickets.
Gloucester AIW (216-6) took victory over Oldlands (182-9) by 34 runs with noble work from Akthar Dairai (96).
In Division Two, Pete Lavis scored a fine century (104) as Stone (245-4) beat Hatherley and Reddings 3rd XI (181 all out) by 64 runs. Dave Jones (51) scored a half-century for Stone and Richard Boroughs then took 5-37 as the visitors fell short.
