LUKE HEDGER took another stunning win in the very tough Pirelli National Superstock 600 class of the British Superbikes Championship at Oulton Park on Sunday.
The Yate-based rider was pushed throughout the 12-lap race to secure his second consecutive race win.
Qualifying on the front row in third position, the youngster took the lead from the start and despite several challenges from Jordan Simpkin he led every lap of the race and took a fantastic win.
Hedger said: “That was such a tough race but well worth it in the end. To secure another win in the Championship, is a great feeling.
“Everything has felt really good all weekend and I knew I’d be able to push hard but wanted to try and get a lead from the start and bridge a gap. Jordan wasn’t allowing that.
“We were battling every lap and on a few occasions he’d make a move on me and come past but I was determined I was going to win and I wanted to fight hard.
“It was a great race and despite it being so close there was a lot of respect between us both and the passes were all very clean.
“I heard he had a problem on the final lap but he rode brilliantly and it was a great effort from him we had a fantastic race out there. I hope the fans enjoyed it – I know I did.
“I would like to dedicate this win to my mechanic Dan whose partner Nicola left the track on Saturday and delivered a baby girl – congratulations to both.”
