MATT Davis, of Uley, retained the British Juniors National Gliding Championship title at Bristol and Glos Gliding Club.
The 20-year-old won three out of the four days flown out of a possible nine and amassed 2,935 points to beat Sam Roddie into second place with 2,763. Both these pilots were in the six-strong British team that competed recently in the Junior World Gliding Championships in Poland.
Altogether, 29 pilots under-26 took part in the contest from the gliding club near Nympsfield. Others did training in two-seater gliders.
