CHAIRMAN of the Gloucestershire FA, Roger Burden, has been elected a vice president of the Football Association.
The appointment was made by the council of the FA at its summer meeting at St Georges’s Park, the FA’s National Football Centre, and recognises Burden’s 18 years’ service as a member of the council.
Burden, who is a director and vice chairman of the FA, was also elected chairman of the FA’s Judiciary Panel, which oversees all disciplinary cases from Premier League Match of the Day incidents down to red cards at grass roots level.
He was on the three-man selection panel that nominated former BBC director-general Greg Dyke to be the new chairman of the FA earlier this year.
