Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One

Brockworth Albion 1 Dursley Town 1

BRUNO Goncalves headed a second-half equaliser as Dursley came from behind to earn their third consecutive draw amid a torrential downpour at Brockworth.

Town came under pressure early on and were fortunate not to go down to ten men when Matt Workman received only a yellow card for a foul on the edge of the box.

Nevertheless, the home side were rewarded for their superiority midway through the opening period when a ball across the penalty area was finished off at the far post.

Brockworth so nearly doubled their lead, but Keith Watson turned the ball over the bar with a trailing leg after a 20-yard drive took a deflection off Ricky Swift.

The heavens opened at the beginning of the second half, but the visitors raised their game in the atrocious conditions and put the home side on the back foot.

Dursley equalised ten minutes after half-time when Carl Bailey advanced from right-back to cross for Goncalves to glance a terrific header into the top corner of the net.

With Matt Humphrey and Lee Thomas earning Town the right to play in midfield, the visitors continued to look lively with Curtis Mills and Kyle Ward stretching the hosts.

However, they were unable to force a winner, Antonio Forgione failing to connect with a couple of chances and his replacement, Joel Stoneman, firing wide late on.

Dursley: K Watson; C Bailey, C Wilkins, M Workman, R Swift; A Forgione (J Stoneman 80), L Thomas, M Humphrey, C Mills (I Lyon 88); B Goncalves (L Jones 70), K Ward.

Goals: Goncalves (55).
