Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One

Ramblers 0 Dursley Town 3

DAN Lees, Kyle Ward and Nathan Vines were all on target as Dursley claimed a vital victory at second-from-bottom Ramblers to steer clear of the danger zone.

It was a hopelessly disjointed match littered with fouls from both teams, although the Gloucester side showed particular indiscipline when being spoken to by the referee.

Keith Watson had to make a couple of early saves as Ramblers threatened, but thereafter it was the visitors that created nearly all of the goalscoring chances.

Lees headed the opener after quarter of an hour and later had a goal disallowed, while Lee Thomas, Carl Bailey and Antonio Forgione all fired just over the crossbar.

Dursley doubled their lead five minutes after half-time when a home defender made a mess of a back-pass and Ward rounded the goalkeeper before rolling the ball in.

The points were sewn up 15 minutes from time when Thomas picked out Vines with a superb pass and the front man capped an impressive debut with a terrific finish.

Dursley: K Watson; L Jones, C Wilkins, D McNally, J Stevenson; A Forgione, L Thomas (M Workman 85), C Bailey, K Ward; D Lees (L Peters 80), N Vines.

Goals: Lees (15), Ward (55), Vines (75).

Stroud League Division Two

Dursley Town Res 2 Longlevens Res 3

DURSLEY suffered a horrible case of déjà vu as they slipped to defeat having surrendered a two-goal half-time lead for the second week in succession.

Jamie Bennett lifted the ball over the goalkeeper to give Town an early lead and Lee Crosbee doubled the advantage after capitalising on a defensive error.

However, Longlevens were a much-improved side after the break and scored three second-half goals, eventually taking the lead with a little over ten minutes remaining.

Lee Matthews might have levelled for the hosts late on, while substitute Nigel Hart almost proved the unlikely saviour, but his lob over the goalkeeper went just wide.

Dursley: P Dykes; D Clark, B Matthews (N Hart 80), R Crowcombe; W Taylor, R Swift, L Matthews, R Gillingham, J Warner (Antony Nash 65); J Bennett, L Crosbee (C Hyam 75).

Goals: Bennett (10), Crosbee (25).

Stroud League Division Five

Dursley Town 3rds 2 McCadam 5

DURSLEY may have had three Jacks in their starting line-up but it was McCadam that were left holding all the aces as they ran out comfortable victors at the Rec.

The visitors took a 15th-minute lead that was quickly cancelled-out by Town’s Jack Knight, but an even quicker response put McCadam back in front once more.

The pivotal moment of the game came shortly after half-time when the away side scored their third goal of the afternoon following a blatant handball in the build-up.

Rob Lyon pulled a goal back for Dursley from Knight’s cross five minutes later, but McCadam closed out their victory with two goals in the final 20 minutes.

Dursley: N Tocknell; J Dolbear (D Minett 65), J Aldridge, R Cox, K Thomas; J Mowatt (T Clark 70), A Pearce, R Lyon, A Haddon; J Minett, J Knight.

Goals: Knight (20), Lyon (55).

* Dursley thirds progressed to the next round of the Stroud Charity Cup Section D with a 4-3 victory over their Tuffley counterparts on Sunday afternoon.
