Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One

Dursley Town 0 Harrow Hill 3

A SLOW start and a frustrating afternoon in front of goal meant that Dursley’s mini-revival came to an end as Harrow Hill took all three points at the Rec.

Town had kept clean sheets in their previous two matches, but conceded twice in the first 15 minutes here as Shaun Tingle and Dan Mason cut right through the defence.

The hosts eventually responded with a spell of pressure, but only Chris Wilkins truly tested the goalkeeper, the left-back firing a stinging drive from 25 yards.

Front pair Dan Lees and Nathan Vines were at the heart of Dursley’s best work, but neither had any luck in front of goal, the latter being denied by the save of the match.

Harrow Hill sealed their victory 15 minutes from time when the home defence was caught out by a simple long ball and substitute Luke Mayo slotted home a third goal.

Dursley: K Watson; L Jones, C Wilkins, D McNally, J Stevenson; A Forgione (K Ward 75), L Thomas, C Bailey, C Mills; D Lees, N Vines.

Longford Res 4 Dursley Town 3rds 0

DURSLEY gave a battling performance for new player-boss Robbie Cox but their failure to score during an excellent first half ultimately cost them dear at Longford.

Quick out of the blocks, Town came close to an opener through Jack Minett and Andy Haddon, while Ash Pearce had an effort ruled out for offside.

Instead, the hosts got the benefit of an offside decision to break the deadlock ten minutes before half-time and they kicked on again after the turnaround.

Although goalkeeper Neil Tocknell made several good saves, Longford scored twice around the hour mark and struck again late on to run out comfortable winners.

Dursley: N Tocknell; D Minett, N Eames (J Aldridge 20), R Cox, K Thomas; J Dolbear (T Clark 50), R Lyon, A Pearce, A Haddon (M Sowden 75); J Minett, N Pearce.

* Jordan Warner netted the consolation goal as Dursley Reserves were hammered 8-1 at runaway leaders Frampton Reserves in Division Two of the Stroud League.
