Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One

Lydbrook 3 Cam 5

AFTER Cam's fundraising night with former England and Arsenal star Paul Merson on Friday, a lot of the team turned up a little worse for wear in the game against bottom side Lydbrook.

Cam started and continued to make mistake after mistake and this led to them conceding a goal for the first time in three games.

A sloppy free kick given away 20 yards out after 15 minutes was smashed in, giving Ben Jagger in goal no chance.

Ten minutes later Cam broke down the left and when the ball was crossed Adam Philp made no mistake from six yards.

Just before half-time Cam went ahead when Booth took a ball down over his shoulder and smashed home 18 yards out.

Cam then should have got their act together and took control but more sloppy play meant Lydbrook started to believe and they drew level on 70 minutes.

This did give Cam the kick needed as first Philp smashed in his second then Aaron Nash scored his first Cam goal by lobbing the keeper from 30 yards out.

Nash was then very unlucky to hit the post with the keeper well beaten.

On 80 minutes Sam Blackie scored the goal of the game, jinking past three defenders before chipping it over an advancing keeper.

Cam Still allowed Lydbrook a third goal right at the death.

The Bulldogs will need to be back to their best this Saturday when they entertain Sharpness.
