Football: Fower gives Frampton fine win at Southmead

Gloucestershire County League

Southmead CS Athletic 1 Frampton United 2

SOUTHMEAD CS Athletic missed the chance to close the gap at the top after losing at home to Frampton United.

The home side went into the break with a 1-0 lead after John Killpatrick's ball over the visitors' defence found Luke Mills to score from the edge of the box.

The home side could well have had a second goal before the break but Aaron Wilson’s shot struck the crossbar.

Frampton levelled on 65 minutes when a ball into the box was only half cleared and Chris Bulley fired home.

The winner for Frampton came in the 78th minute from Chris Fower, who latched on to a long ball over the home defence to drive the ball home.
