YATE-BASED karting driver Dan Healey has become the first person to win three Junior Karting Championships at Castle Combe.
The 16-year-old wrapped up his third title of the year with one race to spare, having already won the junior crown in the summer and the Adult Kart Championships, where he was the youngest competitor to enter out of 50 entrants, at the same venue.
Healey will race all over the country next year by competing in the Lighweight Club 100 and the British Rental Kart Championships.
He swept the floor in the final round at the Junior Karting Championships, gaining maximum points.
Healey won all four of his heats, took the fastest lap of the day having been a huge 1.5 seconds a lap quicker than anyone else in rained soaked conditions, and started on pole for the final, where he stayed to the finish.
