WOTTON-UNDER-EDGE hosted their first junior tournament at their new home pitch recently.
Teams were welcomed from Dursley and Thornbury and over 30 girls under-12 played some great hockey in the winter sunshine.
The children played three matches in a round-robin tournament which were interspersed with game-play coaching.
It was impressive to see this coaching applied by the players and as a result each game played saw an improvement in their hockey skills.
The main aim of fun and fitness was achieved and all teams involved are very keen to repeat the event on a regular basis.
The hockey club is very proud to be able to provide such sporting opportunities to local kids; something which has been made possible by the facilities now available at New Road.
