Wotton Ladies Reds 1 Wotton Ladies Blues 2
IT WAS time to blow away the cobwebs for Wotton Ladies, who got 25 players out onto the pitch on Saturday to freshen up their skills after the Christmas break.
There was a good turn out of spectators and the morning was thoroughly enjoyable for all concerned.
While the morning was wholeheartedly good natured, the in-house friendly was played openly and competitively with sparkle and enthusiasm.
For the senior players it was an opportunity to reinforce their skills and reawaken the competitive spirit.
For the less experienced players is was an opportunity to lift their game and feel the effect of participation in successful creative moves.
Leila Grey, Corina Whitear, Ali Dixon, Ming Green, Judy Collins, Ellie Stimpson, Katy Cruikshank were all in great form; goals were popped in by Victoria Murray-Davey and Sharron Bates.
It will give the selection committee something to discuss for the competitive fixtures next week; and as a coaching and team building experience it was an undoubted success.
