BRENTFORD are closing in on Forest Green centre-back Eddie Oshodi.

England C international Oshodi has been training with League One side Brentford, having worked with Bees manager Mark Warburton at Watford.

The 21-year-old came through the ranks at Watford before moving to the New Lawn in 2011, where he has racked up 85 appearances for the Conference club.

Boss Ady Pennock said: “Brentford wanted to take a look at Eddie and he was keen to go, so the ball is in their court really.

“He has still got 18 months to go on his contract and I would be happy for him to stick around but we’re expecting to hear back from Brentford on Monday.”

Meanwhile, Pennock denied any interest from Skrill Premier outfit Grimsby Town for striker Reece Styche.

Pennock said: “I’ve not heard anything about Grimsby or any other club coming in for Reece.”
