GOALS from Isabella Joy and Emma Robertson gave Yate Ladies a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth in Premier Division One of the West Women’s Hockey League.
It was a sweet victory after Yate lost heavily to the same opposition at the start of the season.
Joint players of the match were Laura Beeley and Helen Seavill.
The ladies seconds won 4-0 at Dursley in Berkeley Division One with Ciara Blackstock scoring twice.
Ruth Belcher and Natalie Morse were also on target with player of match going to Hollie Constable.
The men’s seconds lost 5-1 to Somerset Gryphons but won the second half 1-0 with a goal from Nick White.
Yate thirds lost 4-1 in a friendly against Jaspers with their only goal scored by Alex Bessex.
Player of the match was goalie Sharron Coles.
In the Davis Wood Hockey League Conference North, Yate men shared the spoils with Bridgend in a 3-3 thriller.
The home goals came from Matt Bethell, Stuart Taylor and Danny Pearce. Man of the match was Benji Macey, who pipped Stuart Taylor by one vote.
The men's thirds beat Bath Buccs 3-1 in East Central Two with two goals from Tom Cullimore and one from Gethin Robson, who also secured the man of the match honours.
