Dursley U14s 32 Frampton Cotterell U14s 17
Dursley beat Frampton Cottrell in the third round of the County Cup competition.
With the wind at their backs, Dursley spent the majority of the first half camped inside Frampton’s half and were rewarded with two tries from captain Tom Viney and a try each from Josh Greenhalgh and Jay Christopher.
Jake Hawkins produced a fine conversion in the wind for a half-time score of 22–0 in Durlsey’s favour.
However, in the second half it was Frampton’s turn to take advantage of the conditions and they produced two tries early on.
Under continued pressure, it was only one of the individual tries of the season by Robert Dakin, running the ball from inside Dursley’s 22 to score under the posts, that helped the home side respond.
In the end both teams scored another try each, Dursley’s through hard work from the pack, led by Jack Davis, allowing Dan Fox to crash over the line.
