THORNBURY judoka Sally Conway won a bronze medal at the European Open in Rome on Saturday.
After losing to eventual gold medallist Karen Nunira of Japan in the quarter-finals, the London 2012 Olympian came back strongly in the repechage to beat Russian Alena Prokopenko and Tamoe Ueno to claim joint third place in the U70kg category.
“Happy with my Bronze yesterday,” said Conway on Twitter.
