RICHARD PETERS has moved up to second in the UK rankings for the mile after taking a dramatic victory at Boston University’s David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
The 23-year-old from Yate, who is currently on a sports scholarship at Boston University, produced an amazing final lap to jump from fourth to first in a time of 3:57.27, beating Welsh record holder Chris Gowell in a photo finish.
Peters has made a good start to the season having recorded a personal best 3000m time of 7:52.61 on his way to a third place finish at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational in Boston last month.
