CARDIFF City have launched a football academy based at Yate International Academy in order to reduce the travel time for future stars in the South West.

The Premier League club began running sessions at the school in Yate earlier this month for their talented youngsters based in this region.

Cardiff Development Centres director Kurt Doyle, who oversees 10 academy centres, said: “We are very excited to be opening a centre in this area and are really looking forward to working with Ridings’ Commerce and Yate International Academy to make this a strong and well thought of centre for local players to progress to our academy.”
