Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division One
Taverners 1 Sharpness 1
AFTER going a month without a game, Sharpness got off to a flying start against Taverners.
Matty Frankham scored a great free kick from 25 yards to give the visitors an early lead.
From then on, the Sharks had their backs against the walls and the home side equalised midway through the first half.
Sharpness soaked up the pressure and showed character to restrict Taverners to one goal.
They had a chance to win it with ten minutes left when Mike Sherman could have done better with a header following Tommy Patterson’s cross, but the game finished all square.
Sharpness have now reached the halfway point in their season and hope to find more consistent form in the remaining 15 games.
The Sharks entertain Harrow Hill at Hamfields on Saturday (3pm).
