Patchway Town 1 Yate Town Reserves 0

YATE Town Reserves' young side put up a good display against a Patchway Town side, who pressurised the visitors defence as much as they could in the opening 15 minutes.

Matt Tovey went close on three minutes and a minute later Phil Vice could have done better with a clear header on goal that he put wide.

Yate weathered the storm and had their first attempt on the Patchway goal after ten minutes with a 25-yard shot from Sven Hopes that went straight into Ashley Wells’ arms.

The only goal of the game came in the 13th minute from the penalty spot.

Yate’s Daniel Worton committed the foul and Tovey slotted the ball home from the spot.

Twenty-six minutes passed before Yate's second attempt on goal, this time a powerful drive from Jordan Hickman that Wells dealt with comfortably.

Tovey was the driving force in the Patchway team and always looked dangerous around the box.

The second half did not inspire and was limited to plenty of midfield play but very little activity in or around the box.

Tovey’s 20-yard free kick went just over in the 65th minute and Yate were limited to just one opportunity a minute from the end when a very good low shot from Luke Burman was well saved by Wells.
