YATE experienced a mixed weekend, which included some unexpected results.

In the Davis Wood Hockey League Conference North, Yate beat Newent 2-1, with goals from Danny Pearce and captain Marcus Smith.

Yate B took away a point in a 1-1 draw with Robinsons C in West Central One.

The goal was scored by Mike Chaney and captain Elliott Smith was man of the match.

Finally, the men’s thirds were on the wrong end of a high scoring game, losing to West Wilts C 9–2 in East Central Two.

Scorers for Yate were Rich Mellis and Rich Edwards, while the man of the match was Gethin Robson.

The ladies firsts fought hard but lost 2-1 against Isca in the West Women's Hockey League Premier Division.

The goal came from Emma Robertson and Holly Davis was player of match.

In Berkeley Division One, Yate seconds beat Old Bristolians thirds with a convincing 5–2 scoreline.

Goalscorers were Holly Constable, Ruth Belcher, Bex Harris (2) and Jo Mackie .

In Berkeley Division Two the ladies thirds pulled off the surprise of the day by beating league contenders Clifton fourths 3-1.

Yate took the lead with a corner from Alaina Herbert, which Clifton duly replied to.

Yate defended well and kept the pressure on to eventually score two more goals via Alexandra Bessex and Jen Pearce.

Player of the match honours were shared between Alaina and Antonia Joy.
