LUKE Hedger is hoping to "make Yate proud" in his toughest season yet.

After a very successful couple of years in the British Superbike Championship Series, winning back to back championships – British 125 GP and Superstock 600 – Hedger will be competing in the British Supersport Championship against some of the best racers in the UK.

Hedger had his first test at Brands Hatch in Kent recently.

The conditions weren't great but it was good for him to associate himself with the bike and the Gearlink Kawasaki team, who he won his Championship with last year.

At the end of March the team will be taking the riders over to Spain for a two-day test and then three official BSB tests at the beginning of April before the first round at Brands Hatch begins on Easter weekend.

This year Hedger will have two races at each round, one on Saturday and then another on Sunday, with all his races shown live on Eurosport.

He said: “I am really looking forward to the first round at Brands Hatch and hope I can make Yate proud.

"I have had an amazing couple of years so far but none of it would have been possible without my loyal sponsors, especially 1st Choice Flooring, who have been there for me and supporting me from the start.”
