IN HIS British Cycling Talent Team kit, Berkeley-based cyclist Etienne Georgi was delighted to win his first road race this season at Llandow.

Riding for Giant CC Halo Films, the 15-year-old Castle School student raced on the closed-road mile-long circuit in wet and windy conditions.

Attacking halfway through the race, Georgi and one other rider dropped the main field and worked together to sustain their lead.

In the last lap, Georgi rode away from his breakaway companion to secure a commanding win.

Georgi then returned to the dry of Newport International Velodrome for British Cycling’s Talent Team camp.
