Bristol Premier Combination Division One
Eden Grove 2 Olveston United 1
OLVESTON'S promotion hopes were dented in this away defeat at Eden Grove.
In a goalless first half, which saw the visitors continually pressurise the home defence, only fine saves from the goalkeeper denied Olveston taking a half-time lead as he kept out good efforts from both George Williams and Matt Knight.
The second half was evenly contested until Eden Grove were awarded a penalty and they made no mistake with the spot kick.
Soon afterwards they made it 2-0 until George Williams reduced the arrears with a penalty with five minutes to go.
Olveston should not really have lost this match and only fine saves by the Eden Grove keeper and missed chances cost them the game.
