FOREST Green boss Ady Pennock believes last night’s BT Sport televised match at Southport should have been abandoned.
Rovers lost the match 2-0, but with fork lightning hitting the stadium, Pennock was more concerned with the players and spectators safety.
He said:“The game should have been abandoned. We had fork lightning halfway through the game and if the cameras hadn’t have been here, I think it would have been called off.”
“I am disappointed we lost and I thought they scored two fantastic goals, but the game should have been stopped for the safety of the players and spectators.”
Rovers’ first defeat in four Skrill Premier matches leaves them three points adrift of the play-off zone having played two games more than fifth-placed Braintree.
