ANOTHER good turnout at the Little Stoke parkrun on Saturday saw eight Thornbury RC members, with Andrew Darton finishing second overall in 18:18, to match his previous personal best (PB).

Garry Slater in (18:46) is still looking for the extra speed to get him back towards his best time.

Matthew Johnsone missed his PB by four seconds (19:04) and Kevin Arnold (20:23) was only a few seconds slower than his best.

Sandra Webber (23:28) just kept Sue Bamford behind her, with the latter’s time of 23:29 being her best at a parkrun.

Trudi Johnson went below 26 minutes with a new PB of 25:58 while Rebecca Dunsford took an incredible six minutes and 48 seconds from her previous time to finish in 33:03.

Only two from Thornbury took on the equally fast Chipping Sodbury course, Hugh McPherson finishing in 22:54 and Judy Mills having a relaxed run in 25:39.

Most of the Davies family chose Aberystwyth parkrun, where all achieved course personal bests.

Luke led home the entire field in 17:07 with big sister Heidi second overall in 18:22, 11 seconds ahead of the first grown-up (male) runner.

Nicky also achieved a course PB of 23:01, making her easily first in the VW40-44 category.

However, father Andi found an interesting 10k event at Coniston instead. Andi’s time of 54:15 was good enough for ninth place and third in the MV40 category.

There was a good turn-out at the Chedworth Roman Trail race –ten demanding multi-terrain miles.

Kevin Arnold was first for the club, 79th in 1:21:30.

Nick Langridge led home the club’s over -60s in 1:24:05, with Nancy Harding first lady club member 1:26:04.

Jeremy Clothier (MV60) had a good run finishing in 1:28:16 in front of Emma Barnes in 1:29:38.

Pete Mainstone (MV60) wasn’t far behind in 1:31:17, followed by Nigel Hale in 1:33:24.

Arthur Renshaw, another MV60 finished in 1:36:03.

Gareth Thomas completed the course in 1:43:01 and second MV70.

Five members of Thornbury completed the Hogweed Hilly Half.

First home for the club was Jon Greenwood, now in the Vet60 category, which he won in 1:41:48, finishing 29th overall.

Ros Rowland had a good run to come 40th overall in1:44:35.

Arthur Renshaw (1:59:14) and Pete Mainstone (1:59:38), knew just what was needed to finish in under two hours, with Nigel Hale following in 2:03:36.

At the Greater Manchester Marathon, Judy Mills finished the 26.2 miles in 4:35:40.

At the Forest of Dean Trails Spring Half Marathon Jim Williams finished in 1:36:37.

Richard Jackson finished in 1:47:04 with Steve Dimond in 1:51:19.

Malcolm Carr came home in 2:01:08 with Karen Carr the sole female club representative in 2:23:16.
