Bristol & District League Division Two
Lloydy Coalpit 1 Real Thornbury 6
AFTER becoming champions and winning the GFA Junior Cup, Real Thornbury’s aim to finish the season with a 100 per cent winning record took a step closer on Saturday at Lloydy Coalpit.
After recording a crucial three points against Nicholas Wanderers A on Wednesday night, Lloydy Coalpit Heath were brought back to earth with the most resounding of thumps, which sees them remain five points adrift of safety.
It took 20 minutes for Real to score from the penalty spot when Adam Bruton was fouled just inside the Coalpit area. Ross Griffin took the spot kick and rammed home into the bottom left corner.
Two minutes later Mike Barton played the ball through for Mourad Senouci to slot home number two.
In the 38th minute Real were awarded a free kick twenty 25 out, where Griffin found Sam Taylor hovering above the Coalpit defence to nod in number three.
Two minute later Real were awarded another free kick, again taken by Griffin, this time finding Bruton to slam home.
Four minutes into the second half, Barton headed to ball over the Coalpit defence to Taylor. Seeing the keeper running off his line towards him, Taylor lobbed the ball over his head for number five.
In the 57th minute a very lazy back pass to the Thornbury keeper saw Coalpit's Dan White score.
Ecstatic celebrations resulted as this was the first goal Coalpit had ever scored against Real Thornbury.
The final nail was hammered home when Mourad Senouci picked up a loose ball and ran through, rounded the keeper
and side-footed in number six.
