A SUPERB bowling display by Will Gidman was not enough to give Gloucestershire their first win of the season as they were frustrated by the rain in Cardiff.

With only 30 overs possible on the final day in the County Championship Division Two clash, Glamorgan finished on 146-9 in their second innings for a lead of just 60 runs, largely thanks to the last pair of Dean Cosker (4*) and Michael Hogan (19*), who put on 20 runs and lasted eight overs to defy Gloucestershire and secure the draw.

Glamorgan resumed the day on 80-3 but Gidman (6-50) ripped through their batting line-up with five wickets on the final day to put Gloucestershire on the brink of victory.

Gloucestershire had controlled most of the match, having bowled Glamorgan out for 145 first time around before scoring 231 to build a decent first innings lead.
