FOLLOWING a very successful Chance to Shine coaching programme with the adjacent primary school, Hambrook Cricket Club are running a short series of free coaching sessions at the club.

Starting at 10.30am on Saturday, April 26 for three weeks, anyone wanting to give cricket a try can go along to have a go and meet the coaches.

The club is primarily aiming these at children from school Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 with the aim of relaunching their U9s Kwik Cricket programme and recruiting for the U11s.

These sessions represent the culmination of this years Chance to Shine project funded by the Cricket Foundation in conjunction with Gloucestershire Cricket Board (GCB).

GCB programmes and projects manager Chris Munden said: “Hambrook CC have been a real success story regarding their Chance 2 Shine programme.

"The school coaching has been really positive and Hambrook Primary School have really benefited from the delivery.

"The club have a strong link with their local community and now they have such a good partnership with their most local school it bodes well for the future.”

Hambrook run age group cricket from under-7s (age five-plus) through to U17s and welcome anyone wanting to play from complete novice through to experienced players.
